I’m Jacopo Ibello, Italian geographer with a strong passion for industrial heritage. I created in March 2011 a Facebook group for industrial heritage fans which now includes members from many countries around the world. I love this kind of cultural heritage because it’s what shaped, better, forged the contemporary world: this process, like all human processes, left its traces on the world. But there are now different traces in this new age: no more religious temples or royal buildings. The witnesses of the industrial revolutions are mines, factories, housing for workers. This new culture deserves respect and needs our protection: industrial heritage is the most at risk heritage, as a recently work in England, the fatherland of the industrial revolution, showed. So I founded Save Industrial Heritage to spread the knowledge of this fantastic world and to collect experiences from many industrial enthusiasts around the Earth. Enjoy the incredible industrial culture!
